Google unveils its latest smartphone, which works with the company's own chip

Google has  revealed the full details of the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones , the first of which runs on the Google Tensor chip instead of the Qualcomm processor. Google Tensor was announced in August.

Google's Android operating system runs on more than 3 billion devices worldwide, but the company's phones have failed to capture a significant market share. There are several reasons for this, but the main reason seems to be that people don't know they exist or why they should buy a Google phone instead of a Samsung or  Apple  device .

Google is once again trying to attract new customers and hopes that its new processor, some unique software features and pricing will be enough to attract them.

The company is trying to cater to two audiences this year. The Pixel 6 is targeting the mid-market with a starting price of $599, which is $100 cheaper than last year's Pixel 5 . The larger Pixel 6 Pro , which has a more premium design and better cameras, starts at $899 and puts Google ahead. Range for $799 iPhone 13 and $799 Samsung Galaxy S21 5G .

Both phones are available for pre-order on Tuesday and will be available on store shelves, including all major US carriers, starting October 28.

Unique Pixel software

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro both offer unique software that you can't get on other Android phones , which Google hopes will appeal to consumers. The company says a lot of this is thanks to the new Tensor chip.

The Tensor chip , for example, allows you to remove elements from photos, such as a photograph or a background object that gets in your way, with a feature called "Magic Eraser". Other camera improvements include Face Unblur, which blurs a moving subject and provides more accurate skin-tone features.

Tensor also enables voice dictation

So, if you're texting a friend, you can say " Hey Google , type" and start speaking your message instead of typing it. Tensor also enables live translation in chat. So, you can start typing and it will be automatically translated into another language. It works in English, French, Japanese, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Hindi, Polish, and Russian. Live subtitles software also extends to live captions, audio recorder and camera. As for captions, if you're watching a video or listening to audio, the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro can display subtitles from French, German, Italian, or Japanese (in beta) to English.

Also, Google's Pixel phones can help you combat spam calls and messages, including WhatsApp ,   Facebook   Messenger, and Instagram , with features to block those calls, messages, and alerts if you suspect someone is trying to trick you by asking for your password.

The phones run Google's new Android 12 operating system, which has a feature called "Material You" that will automatically customize the colors of icons, menu text around the phone, and more, to match your wallpaper.  This feature may run on other phones, so it's not completely exclusive to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones.  Finally, Google promises up to five years of security updates, which is two years longer than previous Pixel phones.

Pixel 6 و Pixel 6 Pro

The big differences between Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

The Pixel 6 has a 6.4-inch screen, while the Pixel 6 Pro has a sharper 6.7-inch screen.  Both offer high refresh rates, like the high-end Samsung S21 phones and Apple iPhone 13 Pro models , which make scrolling much smoother.  They have HD wide angle cameras for sharp photos and Ultra HD lenses to fit more into every shot.  But, Pixel 6 Pro adds a third telephoto lens for up to 4 times optical zoom.  And the Pixel 6 Pro has a sharper front camera than the Pixel 6.

There's also some extra memory in the Pixel 6 Pro, which can make it feel faster if you're running a lot of apps at the same time, and it can be shipped with up to 512GB of storage while the Pixel 6 ends up with 256GB.  Both phones are shipped with 128GB capacity at low prices.

Finally, the phones charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.  However, like the latest Samsung and Apple phones , Google doesn't include a charger in the box, so you'll need to purchase a 30W USB-C wall socket for it to work.  The Pixel 6 has a big 4600mAh battery, while the Pixel 6 Pro has a bigger 5000mAh battery.  Google promises at least a full day of use.
