What is a keyboard (what is a keyboard)

A keyboard is a piece of computer hardware used to display text, characters, and other commands on a computer or similar device. A computer keyboard is called  a  "keyboard"  .

If we say in other words, the keyboard is an important part of the computer input device, there are many types of keys or buttons, with its help we enter data into the computer and give instructions from it, this V DDU  (VDU) or connected to the monitor, we call it the keyboard.

In this, we write any command or data by pressing different buttons or keys with our fingers, whatever we are typing, then it appears on the computer screen as we type. It is one of the most widely used computer input devices. Typing is the use of typing a lot of data with the keyboard.

After typing the entire data or command, this command or data is sent to the computer by pressing a special RETURN or ENTER button . The keyboard is a means of direct communication with the computer. The CPU processes the data entered by the user and then  shows us the result on the screen through  output devices such as  monitors  and  printers  .

Keyboards are connected to your computer using a wire that  connects  to a USB port  but can now also be wireless (such as a Bluetooth keyboard ). Most keyboards in the 21st century used wires attached to a USB port on a computer, but older keyboards now use very few DIN connector ports.

types of computer keys

My friends, as you all know, the keyboard is the most important part of a computer. It consists of a set of keys that help us type any information into a computer. Generally, different computer keyboards have other keys like Pg Up, Pg Dn, Home, End, Insert, Pouse, Num lock, Scroll Lock, Break, Caps lock, Prnt Scr and many more.

Computers have different types of computer keyboards with different key layouts such as capacitive keyboard, button keyboard, gaming keyboard, multimedia keyboard and many more. But there is  a  globally used QWERTY layout keyboard in the English language  .

Keyboards mainly consist of two types, 101 keys or 104 keys. A standard keyboard has  104 buttons  or keys, but this number may be slightly lower depending on the keyboard manufacturer. They are divided into groups according to the function of these keys, and each group and the keys of the master key are also presented.

Function keys

There are a total of 12 function keys F1 through F12 on the top row of the keyboard. These keys have different functions for different programs. Some keyboards also have 20 function keys. Most of its use also depends on the software or application running on the computer at the time that works differently with different programs. Using these keys also saves us a lot of time.

Control switches are used alone or in combination with other switches to perform certain tasks. Control keys are Ctrl key, Alt key, Escape key, Window key etc. Apart from this, Menu key, Scroll key, PrtScr, Pouse/Break etc. are located in the Control keys.

Navigation keys

All keyboards have special navigation keys such as arrow symbols on the cursor control keys and can be used to move the cursor left, right, up and down respectively. Pressing these keys once moves the cursor up or down one place and to the right or left of the screen in the direction of the arrows on it. Apart from this, there are other keys to control the cursor, which are written Home, End, PrntScr, Insert, Delete, PgUp, PgDn, etc. They are used to transfer any document files, web page, etc. here and there.

private keys

The keyboard has more special keys like space bar key, Caps lock key, Backspace key, Esc key, Tab keys, etc. The keyboard also has three types of indicator light, Num lock, Caps lock, and Scroll lock. We use it to write numbers only or write only uppercase and lowercase letters.
